Brendan Laney is a Tennessee Tech graduate, software engineer, and proud resident of Putnam County’s District 3. He works in financial technology, developing and supporting systems connected to credit card processing and financial reporting — work that demands transparency, precision, and accountability every single day. Brendan believes those same principles should guide local government. Having built his life and career here in the Upper Cumberland, he cares deeply about protecting what makes this region special while ensuring our county government operates efficiently, responsibly, and in the best interest of working families and businesses that call this special place “home.”
Homeschooled his entire life and raised in church, Brendan grew up singing in children’s choir and playing piano and guitar in worship services. His first job at Chick-fil-A taught him the value of service and hard work. Today, as a father raising his son in Putnam County, he is committed to strengthening public education, increasing civic engagement, and making sure every resident in District 3 — including our growing and diverse communities — feels informed, respected, and represented. Brendan loves the Upper Cumberland for its strong sense of community, faith, and neighborliness, and he is running to help ensure Putnam County remains a place where families and businesses can thrive for generations to come.
Education
Strong public schools are the foundation of a thriving Putnam County. I will support responsible budgeting and collaboration with school leaders to ensure students, teachers, and families have the resources and safe environments they need to succeed.
Transparency
Taxpayers deserve clear, accessible information about how decisions are made and how their money is spent. I will advocate for accountable budgeting, modern reporting practices, and open communication between county government and the public.
Civic Engagement
Putnam County is growing and becoming more diverse, especially in District 3. I will work to strengthen communication, increase participation in local government, and ensure every resident feels informed, respected, and represented.
