What I want to bring to the forefront of county government can be summed up in these three words: Honesty. Integrity. Transparency.
When dealing with budgets, sometimes hard, honest conversations must be had. Who gets what portion of the pie? Like your personal budget, the county budget is not an endless supply of money. I will work hard to be honest about where the money is going.
Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. Sometimes it’s as simple as turning in a wallet that’s been found. Other times it may come to using county taxpayer’s money. I will always lead with integrity.
Decisions must be open to public scrutiny. This is the core of being transparent. We, as taxpayers, have a right to be heard, even when we might disagree with the status quo or the majority.
