Professional: My career has been spent   in public service via jobs I have held with the University of Tennessee, the Tennessee Valley Authority (specifically the Office of the TVA Inspector General) , and a federal program which provided funding for rent and utilities to families suffering from the downturnof the economy during 2008. The area over which I was responsible included a twelve-county rural region.

Politics/Democratic Activities
My parents were “New Deal Democrats” so naturally I grew up as a true blue Democrat.  When I lived in Knoxville, I spent many hours working on  Al Gore’s and Harold Ford, Jr.’s national campaigns.
During  2017, I took part in the Emerge Tennessee program, which identified and trained Democratic women to run for public office.   I never planned to run for office; my goal was to meet other Democrats across the state and ultimately become involved at the policy level.  Nevertheless, when asked to do so, I  ran for for the TN House, District 25, against Cameron Sexton during 2018 and again during 2022.
I also served as  as Chair of the Cumberland County Democratic Party from November 2018 through November 2024.
2021 Chosen by the TNDP Executive Committee to fill a vacancy for the position of Committee Woman, District 15.  I was elected to this position on the ballot during 2022.

ADDENDUM
I would like to add that most of this year has been an emotional, tumultuous one for  my husband and me.  He was diagnosed with cancer during the Spring and, two days before his scheduled surgery, his sister passed away suddenly outside her home.  (The surgery went well and his recovery has gone smoothly and continues).  We have also gone through the gauntlet of carrying out the steps surrounding the dealth of a family member. Most of our time and energy, however, has been spent disposing of his sister’s vast amount of belongings. We think we are finally approaching the end of that process.   I say all of this to District 15 Democrats to explain my absence from party events and meetings.  I have attended only one event – the Cumberland County Dem’s annual event – and the regiolnal TNDP EC meeting in Chattanooga.  I am ready to get back on track and carry out my duties and see all of you.
